Research Overview

The Computational and Physical Intelligence Lab aims to establish computational design frameworks for advanced materials systems with enhanced physical intelligence. We envision that future artificial systems could mimic biological agents by physically encoding sensing, actuation, learning, and decision-making in their bodies, executing autonomous tasks in unstructured and extreme environments. To achieve this goal, we will explore a cooperative synergy between computational intelligence and physical intelligence. Our interdisciplinary approach spans across various fields including design, mechanics, manufacturing, computer science, materials science, and robotics.
